Echinodorus uruguayensis

Echinodorus uruguayensis (family Alismataceae) is a very variable plant with narrow dark green almost transparent looking leaves. When the plant is doing well it can form many leaves to make an excellent specimen plant. This plant needs a rich substrate with allot of clay to get good growth CO2 will also help considerably. When Echinodorus uruguayensis is grown emersed it flowers profusely in the summer time and produces many small plants on the stout flower stalks. these need to be rooted before separating them from the parent plant.
