Houttunyia cordata (plain green)

Houttunyia cordata has light green heart shaped leaves, often with reddish markings on the veins if the plant has enough light. This plant is not easy to grow in an aquarium and seems to do best in a very rich clay substrate. The plant multiplies by a rhizome that spreads under the substrate surface. New plants shoot from the nodes on this underground stem. The rhizome can be cut into pieces and planted to grow more plants.
